Restrict access to Delivery Accounts (End Customers)

1 people liked this article

By restricting access, you can provide relevant information to delivery account users, without giving them access to everything. This ensures your end users only have access to the necessary services.

Delivery Accounts

A delivery account is the end customer or the legal entity to which the service is delivered. When the delivery account is different than the contract account (where the service is signed), the restrictions set by the contract accounts functionality might not be enough for you. For these cases, you have the option to limit user access to specific delivery accounts, allowing them access only to certain services.

Example Scenario

Let's consider an example to better understand how this works. Your organization, ACME Corporation, has three legal entities and two of them deliver services to PEAR the structure looks like this

Contract Account

Delivery Account

Services

ACME South
PEAR Corp
SVC-000001
SVC-000002

ACME South

SVC-000003

ACME East
PEAR Corp
SVC-000004
SVC-000005
ACME North
ACME North
SVC-000006

Creating a User with Restricted Access:

Now, let's learn how to create a user that belongs to PEAR Corp, and provide them access only to the services "SVC-000001" and "SVC-000002," which belong to ACME South with a delivery account PEAR Corp.

To create such a user, follow these steps:

  1. [Step 1 - User Creation]: Start by going into user management and select Delivery Account. Then click on the Add New User button.
  2. [Step 2 - Role and Permissions]: In the second step of user creation, you need to set the contract account specifically to ACME South as well as the delivery Account PEAR Corp This step ensures that the user will have access only to the services under that particular contract account.
  3. Also select one of the 3 roles available for delivery accounts. You can find more information about the roles in this article

That way the user will only have access to Services SVC-000001 and SVC-000002.
